Celebrating their 26th anniversary, Charged Particles is hot on the jazz scene in the Bay Area, across the country, and internationally. Featuring the Bay Area's favorite Afro-Latin jazz keyboardist, Murray Low, along with the inventive and sophisticated acoustic and electric bassist, Aaron German, and fiery drummer Jon Krosnick (who has performed with Chick Corea), the band plays funky Latin jazz and more, brimming with remarkable virtuosity, powerful grooves, engaging arrangements with twists and turns, tightly synched ensemble playing, and a wide range of emotions. During the last year, the band has performed all over California, as well as in New York City, Washington, DC, Boston, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Cleveland, and Tarrytown, and the band’s international touring includes Sweden, Indonesia, Canada, and the UK. Of the band, reviewers have said: “Something special” (Downbeat Magazine), “An electrifying, push-the-limits performance style… A tight and enormously talented trio.” (Jazz Times Magazine), “Charged Particles is definitely dazzling.” (Jazz and Blues Report), “Fresh, energized contemporary jazz that showcases the trio’s individual technical mastery as well as a cooperative, refined approach to the art form.” (Jazz News Magazine), and “Tight interplay was the watchword as the threesome took difficult fusion themes and applied its own twists with spark and personal flair.” (Los Angeles Times). The band's CDs have received critical acclaim in many publications and have been aired on more than 200 radio stations world-wide. Their second CD, Sparks, was named one of the eight must-hear jazz releases of the year by The Other Paper, and the opening track from Sparks was included on the Jazziz on Disc sampler CD mailed to 85,000 subscribers of Jazziz Magazine.
